The Arista Networks QSFP-40G-UNIV optical transceiver is a high-performance 40 Gigabit Ethernet QSFP+ module engineered for enterprise and data centre environments that demand flexible fibre connectivity. Operating at a 1310nm wavelength, this universal transceiver supports both multimode (MMF) and single-mode fibre (SMF), reducing inventory complexity by allowing a single module to be deployed across multiple fibre types.

Designed for stable and efficient optical transmission, it supports distances of up to 150 metres over OM3 MMF and up to 1 kilometre over SMF. The hot-swappable QSFP+ form factor allows installation or replacement without network interruption, while Digital Optical Monitoring (DOM) enables real-time monitoring of optical parameters to maintain optimal network performance.
